Episode 125 – The Real/Fake Geeks Meet Chip Zdarsky!

by Chris Thompson

With Chip Zdarsky & Maria Norris …

After last week’s episode with John Allison, this time I’m back with Maria for another instalment of The Real/Fake Geeks – wherein we introduce Chip Zdarsky (Sex Criminals, Howard The Duck) to the wonder of Garkfunkel’s a.k.a. the UK version of Applebee’s!

The three of us chat about Chip’s early years in comics, what he did after that (and what brought him back), how he deals with the legions of new and diverse fans, and what he has planned for Howard The Duck going forward. It’s a fun and candid interview with the usual Zdarsky twist!

Episode 59 – Artful Discussion with Adam P. Knave!

by Chris Thompson

With Adam P. Knave …

After last week’s discussion with Julie Maroh about Blue Is The Warmest Color (which you can listen to here) and my recent chat with Before Midnight‘s Graham Reynolds (which you can listen to here), we return to the comic trenches with writer Adam P. Knave (Artful Daggers, Amelia Cole).

We talk about his background as a writer (both in and out of comics), how he came to co-writing and joining the Monkeybrain brand, the differences in writing for comics and prose, piracy and the future of digital comics, and what he’s working on next (with a few hints of things to come).

Episode 26 – Hanging with Michel Fiffe & Christopher Sebela!

by Chris Thompson

With Michel Fiffe & Chris Sebela …

Occasionally we miss stuff first time around (I know! We’re as shocked as you are), so this week Taylor & I take a look at the second printing of Django Unchained #1 from Vertigo/DC Comics. It’s an adaptation of Tarantino’s full script for the film by R.M. Guéra, Jason Latour & friends.

We also have TWO very exciting interviews for you to enjoy once again … First up, Taylor chats with Michel Fiffe (Copra, Zegas, Deathzone) about self-publishing, breaking the Kirby barrier, and much more.

Then I talk with writer Christopher Sebela (Screamland, Captain Marvel), who has just released High Crimes #1 through Monkeybrain Comics. We discuss how he started out, what avenues are available to creators, and how a network of Chrisses might just rule the world.
