Episode 1 – It Begins!
Welcome to the first episode of the Pop Culture Hound podcast with Chris Thompson (@popculturehound) & Taylor Lilley (@capelessT) from The Orbiting Pod podcast. In this first episode, Chris & Taylor discuss various up-and-coming creators who are producing comics in print and for the web. Comics & creators discussed include:
- Deep Dive Daredevils – a web comic from the collective known as The ThreeOneFive.
- The Holy Numbers – a web comic from Dublin-based creator Tommie Kelly.
- Arcadian Knights – a werewolf comic with a twist from Garrett Free who is currently running a campaign on Kickstarter.
- Kodoja – a giant monster comic from Keith Foster of Big Pimp Jones, artist Rory Smith, and the Hot Peas & Butta collective.
- Porcelain & Butterfly Gate – two new projects from Benjamin Read & Christian Wildgoose through Improper Books.

Congratulations on your First Episode Podcast Chris and Taylor. I listened with interest to your discussions concerning the six up and coming Comic creators and found it far more interesting than I thought I would to be honest. That will no doubt please Chris. He knows why….You both have the knack of putting your reviews across admirably and without talking over one another which I really like as that tends to make it hard to follow at times. I think your explanation of all of the Comics made them sound interesting even to the likes of myself who has probably never bought a comic in my life. I look forward to hearing more from you and wonder is it possibly to actually download these Podcasts to my Mac or PC on a regular basis.
Will they be available through iTunes for download eventually? Keep up the great work and have a great time in San Diego Chris.
