PCH @ The Movies – The Voices with Marjane Satrapi!

by Chris Thompson

With Marjane Satrapi, director of The Voices …

Following on from my last film-based podcast with Ira Sachs discussing his wonderful new film Love Is Strange (which you can still listen to here), this time I’m back with Marjane Satrapi, director of the quirky new comedy The Voices – starring Ryan Reynolds, Gemma Arterton & Anna Kendrick.

Written by Michael R. Perry, The Voices tells the story of Jerry, a likeable guy pursuing his office crush with the help of his evil talking pets. Unfortunately things take a sinister turn when she stands him up for a date, and poor Jerry’s world will never be the same again.

Marjane & I discuss her early days making comics, how her film-making career has taken off in the time since, the responsibilities involved in making a film about mental illness, and what she’s got coming up next.
